Couples ask if engagement sessions are necessary, and the short answer is yes! Engagement sessions are essential for both you and your fiancé as well as me!
Your engagement session is something that will be fun and stress free and provides many benefits! Keep on reading to learn all the reasons why you should not ditch your engagement session!
Meeting Your Photographer
Engagement sessions are important because this is the chance that you are going to meet your wedding photographer for the first time, although you may have chatted with him or her on the phone or through video. While this may seem not as necessary on the list of things that you have going on while wedding planning, it is essential to meet the person who is going to be in some pretty intimate spaces with you!
The engagement session is an excellent way for you to get to know your photographer and for your photographer to get to know you a little more about you, and learn how they handle photographing you. I use engagement sessions to get to know more about my couples and build lasting relationships with them— and spending some time with them outside of emails and texts is crucial to me to give you the ultimate experience.
Images for the Wedding Day
The images captured at your engagement session are perfect for save-the-dates and to display at your wedding! I get so excited seeing the different ways that my couples use their engagement images — I’ve seen them used as centerpieces on tables, in the guest book at the wedding. Displaying images from your engagement session is just another way for the couple to celebrate their relationship and who they are together.
Wedding planning is stressful — no doubt. You have so many decisions to make leading up to your big day! The engagement session is a chance to relax and celebrate your relationship! You’re about to get married and start a new life together, so take a minute to enjoy each other before the big day!
I understand that many circumstances will prevent a couple from having their engagement session, and if that is the case, we will work something out together (I have several options for you)! Take the engagement session as an opportunity to dress up and remember what made you two fall in love and have fun!
