Why Engagement Sessions Matter | Arkansas Wedding Photographer

I am asked often if engagement sessions are necessary and the short answer is yes! Engagement sessions are important for both you and your fiancé as well as me!

The engagement session is the first time that you are going to meet your photographer face-to-face, a great way to capture beautiful portraits that can be used on your wedding day and just something that is relaxed and fun and stress-free — which is the opposite of planning the wedding day with all of the decisions that go into it!

Meeting Your Photographer – Engagement sessions are important because this is the chance that you are actually going to meet your wedding photographer for the first time, although you may have chatted with him or her on the phone or through video chat. While this may see not as important on the list of things that you have going on while wedding planning, it is important to meet the person who is going to be is come pretty intimate spaces with you! The engagement session is a great way for you to get to know your photographer, and for your photographer to get to know you a little more and you learn how they handle photographing you. I use engagement sessions to get to know more about my couples and build lasting relationships with them— and spending some time with them outside of emails and texts is crucial to me to give you the ultimate experience.

Images for the Wedding Day – The images captured at your engagement session are perfect for save-the-dates and to display at your wedding! I get so excited seeing the different ways that my couples use their engagement images — I’ve seen them used as centerpieces on tables, in the guest book at the wedding. This is just another way for the couple to celebrate their relationship and who they are together.

Wedding planning is stressful — no doubt. You have so many decisions to make leading up to your big day! The engagement session is a chance to relax and celebrate your relationship! You’re about to get married and start a new life together so take a minute to enjoy each other before the big day!

I understand that there are many circumstances that will prevent a couple from having their engagement session, and if that is the case, we will work something out together (I have several options for you)! Take the engagement session as an opportunity to dress up and remember what made you two fall in love and have fun!

Have any questions about an engagement session? Be sure to contact me and I’ll be more than happy to answer them for you!
