Inclusivity is the Name of the Game

Inclusivity is not a trend—it is a conscious decision to make sure all people are represented. I’ve noticed for quite some time that in this industry, there is a lack of diversity when it comes to models and vendors represented in photoshoots for editorials. I was glad when I saw Arkansas Bride feature an African-American model on their Fall/Winter 2019 issue. As an African-American photographer, I feel like it is one of my sole purposes to ensure that people who look like me are represented well among vendor portfolios, so I try to bridge the gap between the two.

I recently took a trip to Dallas and had the opportunity to work with some of Dallas’ most talented vendors produce the gorgeous images you see below. This editorial was held at the Crescent Court Hotel. Guys, these vendors are talented, and I’ve added them to my list of preferred vendors for my brides in the Texas area!
