Camielle and Michael’s June 16 wedding at First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, AR was one that I will never forget. I capture Camielle’s bridal shower back in April and after seeing the images from the shower, she contacted me about photographing the wedding, and I certainly could not say no! Camielle has quite a bit of family (ok, not quite a bit, she has a huge family!) and I knew many of them in some form or fashion, so I felt right at home photographing this wedding for her and Michael!
Camielle and Michael met at Arkansas State University in the library, and the rest was history. If you ask them, both of them have different stories about how they met, and Camielle says her side of the story is the definite truth. He proposed to her on her 30th birthday and the rest was history.
The weather held true to Arkansas wedding at this time of year — it was HOT. But they handled it like pros. The day started at the hotel room where hair and makeup was done. The guys hung out offsite which was a plus so that Camielle could get ready without worrying about where Michael was since they did not share a first look. Camielle was surrounded with so much love from her bridesmaids and mother and mother in law that it was unreal. I’m pretty sure her heart was exploding with gratitude at this point, because mine sure was and I was just overwhelmed with the love that was felt in that room.
The ceremony and reception were held indoors due to high temperatures in Arkansas and it was perfect! There was so much love in the room as Camielle walked down the aisle and Michael also shed a few tears watching her come down the aisle—talk about a tear jerker for me! The bouquet was custom made and had a picture of Camielle’s grandfather on the bottom! What was also special about this wedding was the Camielle’s parents married in June, and Camielle’s grandmother’s birthday was also June 16! After the first dances, all attendees at the reception sang happy birthday to her grandmother, and grandma enjoyed every bit of it!
Camielle and Michael, your wedding day was perfect, and I hope it was far beyond anything that you’ve ever imagined. I am beyond happy that I got to be there to witness the beginning of your next big adventure. Thank you a million times over for being so incredible. Your joy is contagious and I absolutely loved being surrounded by it on your wedding day. Cheers to many decades of love and happiness!
