When Alex laid eyes on Blake, she had no idea that a beautiful adventure was about to begin. After meeting as juniors in high school at Nolan Catholic, they grew together as close friends. Their friendship soon became more. The first date in 2011 led to ice skating and Chili’s. Soon lovestruck sometime over the past 10 years (neither would say who was in love, first!). And on a radiant April day, their family and friends gathered in for their Windsor at Hebron Park Wedding in Dallas, Texas to celebrate the moment they finally said, “I do.”
The morning was all celebration and laughter. Decked out in custom robes, the bride and her bridesmaids (and let’s not forget the bridesman, Johnny!) shared stories about their days at Baylor University, They also shared how Blake planned the proposal to Alex. Let’s just say that Blake said he was on a mission trip and he actually was not!
Meanwhile, the groom and his groomsmen were sharing jokes with each other. And when the last boutonniere was pinned and the last curl was hairsprayed, the time had arrived to head to the location for the first look. The first look was absolutely the best thing that they never knew they needed until it happened. Blake finally had an opportunity to lay eyes on the custom-made gown that Alex and her mother had worked on for quite some time (and it was absolutely beautiful!) After the First Look, we proceed with Bridal Party portraits and the before heading to the ceremony space. Escorted by her father down the aisle, Alex absolutely glowed. And her groom was absolutely glowing, too!
Under the expert guidance of the wedding coordinate Mary from Mary Kate and Co., the talented vendors painted an elegant and modern scene. The romance of the floral arrangements by B Marie’s Flowers was perfectly juxtaposed by hunter green and gold accents and a perfect wedding cake with Baylor University’s mascot on top. The tablescape, overflowing with blooms on the head table, and gorgeous orchids on the guest tables, was decorated in clear glassware and placecards.
Surrounded by love and with the amazing scent of chicken with tomatillo sauce and beef culotte, the festivities carried on well into the night. Alex and Blake shared their first dance together as husband and wife, and each of them shared a daddy-daughter/mother-son dance afterwards. Alex and her bridal party choreographed a dance for Blake to Dua Lipa’s Levitating. After an enormous group hug, the bride and groom turned the party up to 11 by throwing on glow stick glasses and hitting the dance floor!
As the party came to a close, the crowd cheered and exited to the front of business so that the couple could enjoy a private last dance. After an exit filled with glow sticks and wands, they exited with Baylor University caps to the vehicle that Alex’s grandfather purchased for her before his passing. I am so thrilled I was able to document Alex and Blake’s big day, and I can’t wait to see where life takes them! Currently, they will be moving to Augusta, GA so Blake can complete his Anesthesiology Residency!
